About The Author

Educator & Author, Lola Sapphire

"Kids need to play as much as they need to breathe."

Lola Sapphire is an educator of over 30 years and whimsical storyteller
residing in the Pacific Northwest. As a child, she spent hours listening to her
great-grandfather tell stories about his life and experiences.

In turn, this ignited an interest in creating her own poetry
and short stories to share with her grandchildren and the preschool students that she interacts with across Puget Sound.

Ms. Sapphire’s stories are designed to activate socio-dramatic
play, which is a form of symbolic play where a child pretends to take on a role of someone else, imitates actions and speech from earlier observed situations,
and sets the stage for young imaginations to flourish.
